Keyeast First Quarter Results

- 94.3% rise in revenue, 98.5% net loss decrease
- Growth trend in operating profit shown: 104.9% increase from the same period last year
- Improvement of results expected for 2009 due to the "Winter Sonata Animation" and the publishing of "The Beauty of Korea" in the latter half of the year etc.

The cultural content company Keyeast Co., Ltd. (www.keyeast.co.kr) was able to record a profit in the first quarter of 2009.

Keyeast disclosed its first quarter results with its semi-annual report on May 15.

Keyeast's first quarter revenues totaled 3,646,430,824 won, which represents a 94.3% increase from the same period last year (2008 first quarter 1,876,760,829 won), and its first quarter operating profit improved by 104.9% (2008 first quarter -2,988,461,662 won / 2009 first quarter -44,824,882 won), resulting in a 98.5% decrease in net loss (2008 first quarter -2,988,461,662 won / 2009 first quarter -44,824,882 won).

There are high expectations with respect to the business results for 2009 due to the ability of Keyeast to record a profit after constant losses in 2008 and the fact that the 2009 first quarter revenues of 9,683,592,043 won is equivalent to approximately 37.7% of the revenues for all of 2008.

A spokesperson for Keyeast stated that "the 'Winter Sonata Animation' service provision fees and the reduction of sales administration costs through management rationalization measures have had a substantial impact on the improvement seen in the first quarter results( and that ) the company is expecting favorable results at the end of the year because the 560,000,000 yen from the "Winter Sonata Animation" production project will be included in the service revenues of 2009 and "The Beauty of Korea"book, which is one of the main projects for the company in 2009, will be published in Korea and abroad in the latter half of this year."
