[News]Who is going to be Bae Yong Joon’s wife for his 6.2 billion won house?
[2010-11-18 09:45:41]

[Newsen Reporter Kim Beom Seok]

It has been known that the purchase price of Bae Yong Joon’s house in Seongbuk-dong is 6.2 billion won. This price brought a lot of attention from everyone.

This house came on the market last year and its land size is 230 pyong (760㎡). It was introduced to Bae Yong Joon early this year and he has been negotiating the price with the previous owner. Someone who is close to him said, “He has been living in an expensive villa in Gangnam since his debut, and he always said that he wanted to live in a house with a yard for a long time. His wish came true this time.”

When he bought the 6.2 billion won house, his acquaintance was very surprised by saying, “I’m surprised of his ability to prepare cash, However, I’m more surprised for his life because it has turned around so drastically.

He spent his school days in Myungil-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul and it’s said that he always felt sorry for his father who worked as a building manager in the neighborhood at that time. So when he made money after he became an actor, he always said that “I have to buy a building for my father as soon as possible. So I can’t waste money to buy brand-name products, or spend money at the hostess bars.”

He became a Hallyu star suddenly with “Winter Sonata” which he had hesitated to appear in at first. He has always has been living frugally. Years ago, when he moved to a Y Villa in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, an employee of the moving company said, “I was curious whether it was his house or not because he had a fat 10 year old Pioneer TV set and an old refrigerator. He had so many books, so I thought the owner was a professor. I was upset because of the small tip after my work, but I could understand him after I saw his simple household goods.”

Bae Yong Joon’s acquaintance stated that “He started to getting interested in wine and watches since 2-3 years ago. He sometimes presented million won watches to people who were close to him. He has qualities of a boss but at the same time cares about people who are close to him.”

The interior and exterior of his new house in Seongbuk-dong is currently under repair; the moving date has yet to be released. Many gossipers are curious about whom he is going to choose to be his wife to help entertain him in his 6.2 billion won house even though he doesn’t choose to marry soon. People who are close to him have the same predictions that BYJ may choose an average girl who has a good education from her home rather than a girl who has a freewheeling lifestyle because of his clean and perfect personality.

BYJ's new house worth billions.

[Exclusive News]The words, many billions, slip out automatically after seeing Bae Yong Joon’s new house in Seongbuk-dong

2010-11-17 16:36

Yonsama, Bae Yong Joon will move into a house in Seongbuk-dong from the villa in Samseong-dong, Seoul where he currently resides. Bae Yong Joon bought his first house which is located at the end of an expensive residential area well-known as the rich village in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul. It gives a quiet and cozy impression. When Sports Chosun visited his new house, construction was in full swing for the new owner who plans to move in early next year.

▶It was a much bigger house compared to those in the neighborhood.

His new house in Seongbuk-dong is located in a secluded area, where the residences of foreign embassies are gathered, among the residential area. It faces the residence of the Japan embassy, which is inseparable with Bae Yong Joon, and is also close to the residence of the Iraq embassy..

This two-story house, which is characterized by white walls, is bigger than the houses nearby even at a glance. With the exception of the white walls, the entire inside has been torn down and the construction for the “entire remodeling” was underway. According to the residents nearby, the land size of his new house is about 760㎡, and it’s worth about five billion won.

The neighbors are even fancy because the area is well-known as the rich village in Korea. Hyun Jung Eun’s house, the chairman of Hyundae and guest house for VIPs of Hyundae Group are nearby and Samsung families’ houses are about 5 minutes away by car.

Someone who is in the real estate business near Seongbuk-dong stated, “The previous owner is also a well-known figure. He is a formal representative of big cultural facilities. There are countless well-known figures in this neighborhood.”

On the other hand, his agent Keyeast turned down the floating rumor by saying, “We are getting inquiries whether he bought the house for his marriage. It’s absurd.”

▶The reason why he chose Seongbuk-dong for his new residential area?

Actually, not many entertainers reside in Seongbuk-dong. It is a traditional rich village where the first generation of chaebol (tycoon) and entrepreneurs of middle standing have been living there for about 20-30 years continuously. Usually the entertainers’ moving-into the area aren’t welcomed in this neighborhood. An actor of great popularity had moved in, but he moved out soon after because of continuous box-office failures. A broadcaster also moved out from here to Gangnam right away after he got injured. He did not have the opportunity to become fond of it.

In the beginning, Bae Yong Joon also took a while to decide whether to select Seongbuk-dong for his new residential area. He became convinced after searching for a house at various areas in Seoul for about one year. He completed the deal on July 29th. In a telephone conversation with Sports Chosun, the person who helped Bae Yong Joon with his house transaction said, “He is very careful and prudent. It took a long time for him to make a decision.” He said that he has been handling the house transaction for Seongbuk-dong mostly, and further stated, “Actually, not every one can move in Seongbuk-dong. I met Bae Yong Joon several times in one year. I felt that he has a great personality and is a very reasonable person.”

He further said, “Bae Yong Joon feels a big responsibility about Hallyu and his attitude and acts towards people are perfect. I respect and became fond of him during our several meetings about moving. He is man of great capacity which corresponds perfectly with the dignity of Seongbuk-dong. I hope he has a continuous wonderful life at the new place.”

[News]Bae Yong Joon purchased an expensive house in Seongbuk-dong which has put weight on the “Marriage rumor”

2010.11.17 09:49

It has been known that Bae Yong Joon recently purchased a house for himself in Seongbuk-dong, His recent purchase has gained much attention.

On the 17th, according to someone who is close to him, Bae Yong Joon purchased a house in Seongbuk-dong, an area congested with expensive houses. Currently, the construction for the interior is in full swing. It has been known that the house is designed with preferences in mind, Zen(禪).

A real estate agent, who has been dealing the expensive houses in Seongbuk-dong, gave hints by saying, “I heard rumors that Bae Yong Joon would be moving into this area, but detailed information was not released. The deal was completed in a discreet manner.”
Bae Yong Joon has lived at a villa in Samseong-dong, Seoul for over 4 years. He has leased his homes for a long time compared to the need of ownership for investment purposes by most of the other top stars.

The “Marriage rumor’, which had subsided for a while, is beginning to receive more attention as he moves from Gangnam (the district south of the Han River) to Gangbuk (the district north of the Han River). It also is gaining attention because he has purchased a house instead of leasing it.

Traditionally, Seongbuk-dong has been considered as a “rich village” in Seoul. Historically, the politicians and famous businessmen own the houses in Seongbuk-dong because of the area’s strong energy basis on the theory of divination, which is based on topography. Even Koo Ja Kyung, honorary chairman of LG, Lee Dong Chan, honorary chairman of Kolon, and Jung Mong Geun, honorary chairman of Hyundai Department Store live there. Small and big galleries are located around there; residences of foreign embassies are also lined up in that neighborhood.

It is stated that Bae Yong Joon considered the location and the surrounding environment while he was purchasing the house. He has prepared separate spaces for his hobbies, like reading and wine. It looks like he is going to be moving in the beginning of next year.

Yang Geun Hwa, CEO of Keyeast, said “It’s true that he bought the house. However, I think he hasn’t moved in yet due to the many construction projects that are occurring inside. There are rumors that it is a sweet home for his marriage, but I don’t really think so”

BYJ considering to buy a house.

[News Trans] Bae Yong Joon is considering buying his first house.

English translation by: Suehan/Suehan's byj blog

Source: Sports Chosun; 2010-09-12 17:34

Bae Yong Joon is considering buying his first house which is drawing attention because he has only leased houses until this time. He leased a house in the Golden Villa in Samseong-dong, Seoul for the last four years, and recently has been searching for the right house to move into. On the 13th, his agent said, “He is thinking of moving within this year and is looking for an apartment or villa nearby. He is choosing his house with painstaking care because it just may be his first house.”

It is very unusual that he doesn’t own any houses due to the fact that he once paid almost ten billion won in taxes alone and he is also the major shareholder of Keyeast. His company’s revenue for the first quarter in 2010 was over 8.1 billion won. Most entertainers either buy their houses or invest their money in the real estate market for investment purposes when they start making money. His agent responded to that, “It seems that he is more interested in business management than the real estate market.” I asked him if the purchase of this home would lead to a future spouse. He responded waving his hand, “What are you talking about? I’m very sorry that he doesn’t have a girlfriend.”

Presently, both his house and office is located in Samseong-dong and is less than ten minutes walking distance. He plans to move secretly in order to protect his privacy even though it looks as if he is going to prepare his home in the Gangnam area near his office.

On the other hand, Bae Yong Joon didn’t decide his next project since the TWSSG of MBC. His agent said, “He will be appearing as a cameo role in the new drama, “Dream High” which is produced by Keyeast, JYP Entertainment, and CJ Media together. It will air next year in January. He is reviewing his comeback work in various ways from a movie to a drama.”
