So Lucky They Saw BYJ At Gimpo Airport

Jan. 11, 2010

Another super lucky Bae Fans who saw him.

9th Jan Fan’s account of seeing BYJ at Gimpo airport

Orignial : Kob 61086 (10th Jan 2010 13:00:51)

To Chinese : 爱俊一梅/ http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=694089039
To English : cam /BYJ Quilt (many thanks Cam)

(Note from 爱俊一梅: I didn’t translate the fairly length section before this as it was mainly about a fan gathering at GIK on the 9th of Jan. I have only translated their airport encounter after the gathering).

I didn’t know that YJ is returning from Jeju today as I did not come to KOB this morning. Some mentioned that perhaps YJ is coming back today. Since we had the gathering, we may as well try to greet him at the airport. We departed for Gimpo having prepared ourselves that it should be fine if we don’t see him, as long as we are happy.

We chatted and waited for around 2 hours. Ah…the staff of the saviour like YJ appeared. Our lucky charm has just landed in the New Year. To our surprise this is the way to meet YJ. There were many Japanese fans waiting, no sure how they found it out. I gathered together with them around the entrance to the arrival lounge. First we saw manager Shin, at the same time my eyes moved to behind him. I can confirm that YJ looks just as the gentleman who saw YJ at the dermatology clinic on the 6th of Jan stated. YJ’s renowned slim build body came out. Wow.!! OMG. Hehehe.

Before seeing YJ in the flesh, I had this image in my head… re his clothing and his hairstyle. But all these were a real waste. From the moment I discovered as he walked by me that there is only one image in my head. What I had felt previously….

Him wearing a smile on his small handsome face like a face of a youth. His steps with a stride, waving at us with a smile on his fair face. As he gets closer, it is more and more obvious that one could feel his energy, his demeanour, like a tornado. When he heard us call out “YJ”, he answered by turning his head to the voices with a smile. There was this damn hat and the sunglasses that covered half of his face. Then there was the vehicle where the door shut so quickly as soon as YJ stepped in. There was the number plate of that departing vehicle.

I definitely saw him, but it feels like I did not see him at all. What was left behind was a feeling of prostration, but quite remarkable just like after seeing the beautiful rainbow. What was left behind was manager Shin and his staff tidying up the luggage. Even this scene did not escape from one fan’s camera. We exchanged the feeling of that astringent taste as our footsteps moved towards the elevator to the bus stop.

Oh, healthy glowing complexion, firm steps, full of purposeful movements, he still looks as handsome as when I saw him in Kyongju.

A Phone Call From BYJ

Jan. 6, 2010

In "Gangshimjhang" or "Strong Heart" TV show of SBS yesterday Jan. 5'10, hosted by Lee Seung Gi and Kang Ho Dong, one of the Korean actor named Philip Choi that have a face resemblance with my "Honey Baeb" Yong Joon ssi was one of the guest. Philip shared his bonding moments with BYJ.

This article was translated and posted by Suehan in BYJ Quilt... many thanks to my Bae sister.

A Secret Phone Call with BYJ

Thanks to baebae72 for this video in You Tube

Emcee 1: You had a secret phone conversation with Bae Yong Joon?
Emcee 2: Are you really close to him?

Phil: What happened was that I said, “I’m me and Bae Yong Joon is Bae Yong Joon”, when I had the interview with the newspaper company. He saw that interview article and called me.

Emcee: Really?

Phil: Hello.
BYJ: Are you Phillip?
Phill: Who is this?
BYJ: I’m Yong Joon.

I was so nervous when Bae Yong Joon ssi called me

Phil: Oh, senior. How are you doing?
BYJ: You said, “Bae Yong Joon is Bae Yong Joon, and I’m me.”, in the article?

I remember saying that, but I insisted denying it.

Phil: Well, I don’t know. I can’t remember well.

But BYJ said that he had seen it.

BYJ: Did that fact give you damage?

I thought a little while, because I was scared.

Phil: No, brother. I’m honored to have such face.
BYJ: Is that right?

I want to use this incident as an opportunity to get close to him. It was summer time and I like water skiing. So I told him that I would invite him to the shore someday. And we went Cheongpyeong Lake (suehan; 清平湖畔, http://www.gptour.go.kr/site/foreign/english/sub04/01_01.jsp) with his closest friend, Ryu Seong Soo.

So, we all went there, Bae Yong Joon probably imaged to ride a big yacht, but the shore I went to is a very shabby place. And I even had a hard time turning on the engine. I told to him to get on the boat, and he did. He had a cast on his arm at that time. When I turned on the engine, the boat started shaking.. Daldaldal… And we had fun and I thought he was hungry. He said, “How about ramen?” So I cooked ramen and serve him on an aluminum pot. He picked noodle like this on the lid of pot and ate it uncomfortably. So, I said, “Bro, you look a bit awkward.”, and he responded, “What are you talking about? It’s fine.” He ate it like this..

He was so humanly and awesome to me. And someone asked him for his autograph, but he couldn’t do it because he had a cast on his arm. He told him that he would send it to him later. And I had a phone call from that person (the store owner on the lake) about a week later; he said that BYJ sent him an autograph. He kept his promise. He’s surely different than others.

BYJ will open a Gosireh Branch in Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho

Lotte Hotel advances to Japan with “Koala’s March”

Original in Japanese: (media?)
Translated into English: Cloud Nine (thanks)
Photos from LOVE 44Blog (thanks)

Lotte Co. announced on Jan. 5th that they will open Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho in Sumida Ward, Tokyo on April 6th. Their group company runs a luxury hotel in Seoul, however, this will be their first move to hotel business in Japan. Emphasizing its uniqueness by setting up guest rooms with the character of their main product in confectionery: Koala’s March they aim to invite tourists and businessmen.

Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho is being constructed in front of Kinshicho Station of JR and Tokyo Metro, with 19 floors above ground and 2 below. It has 213 guest rooms of 9 types. Besides to meet the demand of businessmen in central Tokyo, the hotel also targets the tourists to Tokyo Disney Resort (Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture) and to “Tokyo Sky Tree”, a tower under construction in Sumida Ward.

The hotel’s concept is [Tokyo Sweet Stay] which is totally appropriate to the confectionery maker.

It includes two Koala’s March rooms and a chocolate theme café restaurant [Charlotte Chocolate Factory] in order to [provide sweet and welcoming amusement, flavor, and healing.] (according to Lotte Co.)

In the hotel a Korean restaurant "Goshireh Fua", produced by a Korean Wave Star Mr. Bae Yung Joon, will open.

Tokyo’s hotel market has seen a series of advances by luxury hotels from overseas for the past few years, however, because of the recession by the financial crisis the number of hotel guests has declined and is still suffering badly.

Lotte City Hotel Kinshicho, while bringing in the luxury images and service know-how from Lotte Seoul Hotel, sets the room charge at rather low rate from 13,000 yen per person (tax included).

Their strategy is to stimulate new demand in downtown Tokyo.“

BYJ gave up "Drops Of God"

English translation by Cam of BYJ Quilt (Lots of thanks sis)

The production of BYJ’s "The Drops of God" has been canceled.
The plan to return to TV has reached a temporary deadlock

Based on the media report in Korea, Korea.sohu.com in Beijing reported in the afternoon of the 5th January that BYJ’s Keyeast has announced the cancellation of the production plan for the TV drama "Drops Of God" staring BYJ. This news has greatly disappointed many viewers who have long anticipated for his return to the TV screen.

"Drops Of God" is the first TV production for Keyeast. In early 2008 Keyeast signed an agreement with Kodansha of Japan for the remake of the TV version, in the hope of promoting wine appreciation in Korea.

However if they choose to follow the original manga, it is inevitable that numerous brands of wine will be appearing on TV. This will be in violation of S Korea’s indirect advertisement provision. But filming with fabricated brands would diminish the original storyline.

Due to the many issues in question, in addition the agreement of the remake has- expired. After careful consideration of all aspects, Keyeast has finally decided to cancel the plan production of "Drops Of God" .

Bae's series scrapped over regulations

Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon's latest television serial has been scrapped indefinitely due to the production's failure to gain authorization to use the name of a brand of wine, his management company Key East said yesterday.

For the drama to have been successfully developed the production team needed a particular brand of wine to be used on the show to stay faithful to the original source material.

But Bae and camp hit a snag with local advertising regulations which limit the amount of product placement on television shows in Korea.

According to Key East, the television adaptation rights for the property was returned to the Japanese publishing house that released the original comics.

Bae, who holds a major stake in Key East, purchased the rights to the popular Japanese comic book in 2008, which was to be developed as a follow-up to his hugely popular television series "Legend."

Bae is currently involved in the pre-production phase of the ambitious new television series he is producing with K-Pop mogul Park Jin-young titled "Dream High."

The 39-year-old actor has also recently published a travelogue of Korea that he penned himself.

Bae’s 'God’s Waterdrop' Project Turns Sour

Actor Bae Yong-joon gave up on his project of turning a popular Japanese comic series, God’s Waterdrop, into a drama due to rules restricting the use of real wine brands.

Top star Bae Yong-Joon has been forced to give up on his project of turning a popular Japanese comic series, God's Waterdrop, into a drama due to rules restricting the use of real wine brands, officials from his agency said.

The comic book, featuring a renowned wine critic and two men searching for 12 kinds of wine called God's disciples,' recently boosted sales of wine in Korea and had been called a CEO's must-read at one point.

However, the project went bust, as they could not overcome the rules on product placement, which tightly restrict indirect advertising of products such as the use of real wine brands in dramas.

Keyeast, an entertainment company controlled by Bae, has relinquished its right to make the comic into a drama to the Japanese publisher.

"On top of the expired contract we signed in 2008, the key reason for the cancellation of the project is because we were unable to resolve the problems involving indirect ads,"' a Keyeast official said.

On top of production, Bae originally planned to take a leading role in the drama, targeting Asian markets.

It is known that the writers of the comic book are avid fans of the Korean hallyu star.

BYJ - So Cold As Snow

Jan. 5, 2010

Wondering of your where about yesterday when the heaviest snowfall dumped 11 inches of snow in Seoul.

Wondering how thick your wardrobes to fight the freezing weather that fall the lowest temp. to 12 degrees Celsius.

Wondering who's with you while you're watching the snow falls at the window and while you're making your self warm inside drinking some wine perhaps.

Wondering of what are you doing, when some Koreans battled to swift away the heavy snowfall that blanketed Seoul that even airports were force to stop their operations.

Wondering when you gonna stop ignoring us your so called "Family"....

Happy New Year! This is Yang Geun Hwan.
1 January 2010

Year 2010, a new year with family has started.

Dear family, happy new year!! (sae-hae-bok, mani-ba-du-se-yo!)

It is already fourth year to give my greetings through this blog.

Looking back last year, personally, I was able to create a good family
and with the birth of my adorable daughter, I had a most meaningful year.

What can I say to everyone at this blog this year,
I am excited and nervous as I am writing this.

Last year, Bae Yong Joon-ssi appeared to you in new styles,
he had worked as writer for “Beauty of Korea (Discovering the Beauty of Korea),” and did dubbing for Animation “Winter Sonata.”

There are high expectations what kind of style he will show this year.

To make this year a year to respond to family’s love,
and to grant to everyone’s wishes,
Bae Yong Joon-ssi and myself will do our best in year 2010.

I wish every family will have all their wishes come true and have a happy year.

And, please be well and have pleasant time.

Kamsa Hamnida.
Sincerely,
Yang Geun Hwan
